TitleReader's Clinic - Page Marks in Windows
KeywordsPAGE
MARK
ALT-H
TextMr Tony Preston of London asks "When I set up page marks in my screen it
works perfectly well for paging down and up but when my user presses the up
arrow on the top prompt on the second screen the screen only moves up a line
not a complete page This looks incredibly messy How do I make it work like
in the Environment Window?"

This is a lot easier to do than to describe but I'll try to explain It is
really just an extended application of the Alt H command

Start painting the window and position the first prompt at the top of the
window Then press F4 to invoke edit mode on the prompt Press Alt H to show
a page mark at the top of the screen and then without pressing return press
the down arrow key to move to the next prompt Press Alt H to show a page
mark at the top of the screen and then without pressing return press the
down arrow key to move to the next prompt

Repeat this until all of the prompts in the first logical window have had
page marks added When you get to the last prompt on the window press Alt H
to add the page mark and then press return twice

This has had the effect of grouping all of the prompts on the first logical
window together as a page

Now move the second page so that the first prompt is at the top of the
window and repeat the process above Do this for each page and you should
now find that your page logic will work as requested Be careful however
that hidden prompt labels are within the CURRENT logical window or your
screen will jump about on redisplay
