Please be very sure that you want to delete this information from the database and not that you want to make it invalid.

Who has the information about the programme number? Has it been circulated to the colleges, tutors etc.

It may be safer to make the programme invalid then at least you have a record of it.

Once sure you want to continue with the deletion you will have to transfer all the information from one programme to another. Tutor, Moderator, banding etc is easy enough to do.

Units, Learners and programme runs are a little more complicated.

Units Developers - Units - Enter Control F10 enter on Indexed Columns Enter programme to be deleted under programme - F9

Now all you have to do is change the programme number to the correct one on every unit and F9 (see bottom left it should say 1 of ? and so on)

To delete a programme you must be sure that when you do Alt 2 and then Alt F1 the field that comes back says empty.

Always follow the following procedure

1 delete units from the learner 2 delete learners from the run 3 delete run from the programme 4 delete programme

1. Alt 2 enter programme nos Alt F1 (hopefully there will be only 1 programme run) if not then again you would be better making the programme invalid.

Alt F6 to pick up all learners

Alt F1 to select units

Alt D

2. Escape back to learner and Alt D again

Repeat for all learners and units

3. Escape back to programme running screen

F6 Remove programme run from Database 4. Press F5 and type DELETEROW COURSE_MASTER ? (? Being the prog nos)

To reuse programme number Go to Developers Submission and press the equal sign

A box will appear to ask you what sequential number you want

Enter a number a few earlier than the one you want to reuse ie if reusing 340 enter 320 press the Enter key. The next number to be used is your deleted programme number.
