With the introduction of OI32 it became possible to create rows of greater length than 64K. Whilst this is great in a pure OI32 environment it creates problems where data is shared with AREV. The purpose of S/Top is to simplify the addition of an MFS to nominated tables that prevents rows being written if they are greater than 64K. Note that the MFS will also need to be copied into the AREV SYSOBJ for this to work correctly. This is not done for you and must be done manually after the program has been installed! Installation is straightforward. Unzip the downloaded file to a CLEAN subdirectory then log into the application in OpenInsight you wish to use S/Top in. Open the system monitor and type RUN RDKINSTALL "Location" and press return - where location is where you have unzipped the stop.zip file to. To run S/Top! you may either go to the system monitor and type EXEC ZZWIZ_ZZ64K or you may shift doubleclick on the OpenInsight Window Executable ZZWIZ_ZZ64K. This will produce a screen as follows :-
clicking "Next" leads to this screen
Select the tables you wish to add the MFS to
now click on "Next" again
and you are given the chance to review your choices. If these are incorrect you may press "Back" at this time. If they are correct press Next again
and the system processes your changes. A final press of Next takes you to the Finish screen.
Now remember to copy $ZZ64K_MFS over to your AREV system before users try to access it there!
