QTIPS - DUMP "Trashing" Files

Under certain circumstances, DUMP can temporarily lose information when compressing using a Ctrl-C. This is typically experienced as a "File not Available" message. The system uses temporary files to store the data in whilst compressing and after a successful compress, copies these files over the old files. If this copy fails then the original file can disappear. If this occurs, and the dos file has been deleted, check the disk for files FIXTEMP.LK and FIXTEMP.OV. If these have a recent date time stamp they are probably your missing data files and can be renamed as the original REV*.* files and reattached with no data loss.
