QTIPS - List/SQL Statements

Ms Jenny Spankie of the Inland Revenue warns that whilst it is permissible to use the dollar sign in field names, other currency symbols aren't so reliable. Although it is possible to paint windows and create dictionary items containing the œ sign, any attempt to create a list statement using the field will fall over with a "Compilation aborted" message. Further, with 2.01, it is not possible to use the SQL ALIAS syntax. This is a particular problem where derived columns are being created, since they have no heading and would benefit from the use of an aliased column name.
