| Text | A user called us recently WITH a really strange problem A system which when installed on one machine ran perfectly went completely to pieces when installed on another machine It was as if the video attributes fell apart At logon the screen didn't clear properly and the menus appeared to be split in half across the screen Popups and Windows functioned perfectly though We checked the video table and everything seemed to be in order Then I noticed that the menu title was at the extreme right of the screen rather than centred Light began to dawn I typed SET CRT at TCL and the screen claimed to be 200 wide by 20 deep The user had inadvertently set his screen width in place of his printer width in the Environment Window This was easily rectified by SETTING the screen width back to 30 characters but I would advise that you try this so that you will recognise if it ever happens to one of your users!
