| Text | Having heard the advice dispensed once too often that users should stay away from @USER VARIABLES because "the system" steals them I set out to determine where precisely Advanced Revelation 2 03 loads these VARIABLES As a wag might once have said (sort of) "rumours of the abuse of @USER variables are greatly exaggerated" Yes they're loaded by some rather well hidden EasyWriter code (attached to a 'C' code and command in a couple of windows) but that would appear to be about all and that's limited to @USER1 The two misbehaving windows are EW BREAK ON and EW FORMATTING @USER variables are actually compiled into the odd program here and there but strangely these programs don't appear to be used any more except for RTP1 However should you find any evidence to the contrary (in 2 03 remember) contact me and I'll get it set right in a future release (Volume 3 Issue 2 Page 15) |
