VERBatim - V20

NAMEMEDIA processor. The media name is stored in a special record in the REVMEDIA map called %%REVMEDIA%%. To access it, log to SYSPROG and ATTACH volname REVMEDIA, then EDIT REVMEDIA %%REVMEDIA%%. Note that indexes are created with hard coded media names, so if a file is indexed the media name should not be changed in this fashion. To effect a change in media name with a volume containing indexed files, it is necessary to change all pointers in the indexes as well. The easiest way to do this is to remove all indexes, change the media name and then re-add the indexes, rebuilding them after successful installation. This could be facilitated by the INDEX.SUBS routine on the utility diskette provided with the Aug/Sept issue. Alternatively, Advantage subscribers can make use of a utility provided by RevTech which does all of this for you.
